Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Peta AI when you use our website and app. Please read it.

Effective: 8 July 2026  ·  Last updated: 8 July 2026

Please note. Peta is a revision aid. Its marks are designed to be examiner-accurate but are not official results and don't guarantee any grade. Peta is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by AQA, Edexcel/Pearson, OCR or WJEC.

01Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Peta AI ("Peta", "we", "us") governing your use of the getpeta.co.uk website and the Peta AI app (together, the "Service"). By joining the waitlist, or by accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 16, you confirm that a parent or guardian has given permission for you to use it and to agree to these Terms on your behalf. Parents and guardians are responsible for their child's use of the Service.

03The Service

Peta scans handwritten GCSE and A-level past papers and marks them against official mark schemes, returning marks, annotations and revision suggestions. The Service is currently pre-launch. Features, subjects, exam boards, pricing and availability may change, and we may add, modify or withdraw parts of the Service at any time.

04The waitlist

Joining the waitlist registers your interest and lets us email you about the launch. It is not a purchase, a pre-order or a guarantee of access, a price or a launch date. You can unsubscribe at any time.

05Accounts, subscriptions & payment

Some features will require an account and a paid subscription (for example, Premium or the Exam Season Pass). When the app launches, purchases are made through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms; billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled according to those terms and your App Store settings. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.

06Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, or to break the rules or malpractice policies of any school, college or exam board;
  • upload content you don't have the right to use, or that infringes anyone's rights;
  • attempt to copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, resell or disrupt the Service, or bypass its security or usage limits;
  • misuse the Service to gain an unfair advantage in a live or assessed examination.

Peta is a study aid for practising past papers — not a tool for cheating in real assessments.

07Marking accuracy & no guarantee of results

We work hard to make Peta's marking examiner-accurate, but marking handwriting and applying mark schemes involves judgement, and automated systems can make mistakes. Marks, grades and feedback are provided "as is" for revision purposes only. They are estimates, not official results, and they do not guarantee any particular grade or exam outcome. Always treat your teacher's and exam board's marking as authoritative.

08Exam boards & third-party materials

"AQA", "Edexcel", "Pearson", "OCR", "WJEC" and related names, papers and mark schemes are the trademarks and property of their respective owners. Peta is an independent product and is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by or connected to any exam board. References to exam boards are for identification and compatibility only.

09Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, text and the Peta name and logo, is owned by Peta AI and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own revision. You keep ownership of the papers and answers you scan ("your content"), and you grant us the licence needed to process, store and display that content back to you so we can provide the marking features.

10Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Subject to that, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", and to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of grades, exam performance, opportunity or data arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

11Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and liability) will continue to apply.

12Governing law

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your home nation. We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above shows when, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
